Our dream to have a legitimized Bicol Central Academy Alumni Association has been fulfilled thanks mainly to the persistence and untiring effort of one individual, Francia Adan-Banzuela, Class 1966. She organized meetings to explain our "idea" and temporarily elected 15 officers and board members necessary for the filing of the incorporation papers. Our Alumni association the BCA Libmanan Alumni Association Incorporated is now a registered non-profit organization

An Open Letter to Our Fellow Alumni
My fellow alumni,
About this time last year, some of our classmates re-discovered each other through the magic and wonders of the internet. I was able to chat with fellow Batch 66 alumni, Dr. Raymundo (Munding) Pendor, who is now the President of Holy Cross College of Davao, Aning Atienza-Orquina, France Adan-Banzuela and Adriano Tenorio. Dr. Pendor mentioned to me that he left some seed money for a future scholarship fund in Libmanan. Then, France mentioned about her plan of publishing a Newsletter for the BCA Alumni Batch 66.
That's when the idea struck me… why not build a website to test if there would be interests for an Alumni Association and Scholarship Fund? So, I built the website for the future BCA Alumni Association which can be found in http://bcaalumni.homestead.com/. It is a temporary and Unofficial website with the mission and goal of gathering and disseminating information regarding the proposed formation of the association. I was also hoping that our fellow graduates will provide us information about themselves and their present whereabouts, whether they are in Libmanan or anywhere else in the world.
The website has a page with the proposed Constitution and By-Laws which I wrote with the help of Dr. Pendor. Our plan is to submit the Constitution and By-Laws for ratification during a General Meeting or Assembly.
The response was modest but significant. More than fifty BCA graduates submitted information and provided their e-mails. The feed backs were both kind, and generous. They are a small number but, I believe, represents the hundreds if not thousands of BCA Alumni out there who felt the same way we do, but without internet access.
The enthusiasm shown by the visitors to the website confirmed my belief that a legitimate BCA Alumni Association may now be finally formed. So why legitimize our Alumni Association by incorporating it? There are several reasons but foremost is the capability for sourcing funds which only an organized and incorporated association can do legitimately. With an incorporated association, we will be able to solicit from our fellow BCA Alumni all over the world, who I believe are willing and able to give to this just cause.
It's time to give back to our community!

I hope more alumni will join and send me their individual or activity pictures. My plan to add more pages to the BCA Alumni website is on hold for lack of materials.
Will there be a grand reunion next year?
Hope I can get an update from anyone who knows something about any plan for a reunion.

REMEMBERING "EQUING"
There are some funny moments too. I still remember when he caught Domingo Sadullo coaching Hugo Margate (may he rest in peace) in one of our classes. He made Ingo took over teaching the class and of course Ingo complied...with some theatrics too. "Li-lin-tian kamo" Ingo started and "Equing" just smiled. Equing's favorite line when a student can not answer or does not have a homework : "Marhay pang magtanom-tanom ka na lang nin kamote. Pagmata mo igua ka nang ugbos na puede lasuman".
The best thing about him though, is that he will inspire you. Many of us had achieved our goals with some inspiration from the man. I for sure became who I am partly because of him. He made me study harder and learn math and algebra well. Those subjects were important in my further studies and are helpful in the practice of my profession.

Project: Bicol Central Academy Alumni Association
Our Alma Mater, the Bicol Central Academy of Libmanan Camarines Sur Philippines has been in existence for over 50 years but there has been no real effort to organize the graduates into an alumni association.
We recognize that forming an association of people scattered all over the world would not be easy. Thanks to the Internet it is now a little easier to locate people for gathering and disseminating information.
We are hopeful that by creating a website, the task of getting our classmates and friends together in a single forum would be easier. We are expecting that the website and this blog site will jump start a renewed interest and enthusiasm among the graduates of Bicol Central Academy.
The front background of our website - the river, the bridge, and Mt. Isarog, has been a sight every Libmaneños has known and enjoyed since the beginning of time. Unlike the mountain that is firm and permanent, the river constantly flows with the tide and the people like the river’s tide, moves in and out on a steady stream. The BCA alumni association can hopefully become the bridge to close the ever widening gap created by the constant move of our fellow graduates.
